Queerblr Wednesdays Commencing July 4th!
This Site’s Not Dead, I Swear.
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been well over a year since I’ve done literally anything with The Queerblr. I’m so sorry! I had grandiose intentions with this blog and have completely fallen flat on following through with them. Let’s have a fresh start, shall we?
I’ve relocated to Washington, and boy have I had a crazy year. The intention of this post isn’t to give you all of my excuses for why I’ve been absolutely abysmal at updating, maintaining, or engaging with my platform (and I know abysmal doesn’t even begin to define my lack of posting, but hey – it’s a fun word to type), but rather to let you know that site is alive and will actually see some posting here soon. My new goal for the last year of my twenties is to actually pursue my passion of writing and bring a bit of joy back into my life. That means bringing my blog-baby back to life.
So, what does that mean for you? It means I am implementing a bi-weekly posting schedule! I’ll begin posting every first and third Wednesday of the month. Right now, I’m simply tasking myself with twice monthly posts, no matter the type of post (film or book review, pop culture commentary, current events, etc.). I’m going to keep it relatively simple and light for now until I prove to myself (and you, dear Queerders) that I can maintain it. My eventual plan is to have multiple postings a week and with different set days of the week for specific types of posts and potentially have a consistent guest writer posting schedule. But, again, those are the grandiose plans and I’m just in the reviving blog-baby mode. So, just remember that the first and third Wednesdays of every month are now Queerblr Wednesdays! Tell all your friends and send them this way.
I already have a backlog of books and comics that I’ve read and media that I’ve watched to tell you all about! There is absolutely no worry on lack of content to write on. I will also be updating my terminology page with the most up-to-date information that I have that encompasses everything I’m aware of. As the LGBTQ+ community continues to grow and evolve, so does the vocabulary. I do my best to stay on top of it and learn as things grow, but I’m human and can’t possibly know everything. If there is something that you find that I’m missing, leave me a comment or send me a message and let me know!
For now – be on the lookout for the first Queerblr Wednesday post on July 4th! (Independence Day may not be the best day to re-start something, or maybe it’s the best day?) I’m reading through some pretty great non-fiction LGBTQ+ books right now that I can’t wait to share with you all.
Until July 4th, my dear Queerders! I’m looking forward to writing for you again.
